The General Properties settings are applicable to any object placed onto the display panel, which is the work space you are using to design your presentation. When you click on an object and make it the active object, these settings appear on the right side at the bottom. You may have to scroll down to get to them.
Embed Content and Reload Content
If you use an image within an object, Embed Content, which is checked by default, saves the image within the presentation file. If you disable this feature, the presentation will retrieve the image from the specified Image URL. Reload Content works in conjunction with this by attempting to retrieve the image from the specified Image URL before loading the embedded file. Consider whether or not the image will change from the original and how frequently it might change.
Smoothing
By default, Smoothing is enabled. If you run the finished presentation at a higher resolution than the resolution used to design the presentation, this property allows the text to stay smooth in appearance, rather than take on the jagged appearance that is typical with enlargement. This setting applies to the particular object and is not global to the whole presentation.
Update Interval
The Update Interval tells a running presentation how often, in seconds, to check with the Vantage Point Server for a change in the value of the date populating the particular object. If a change is found, the new value is then displayed.
Tool Tip Message
Enter text into the Tool Tip Message text box and it will be displayed in a running presentation whenever the user places the mouse cursor over the object.
